Well written and insightful - albeit a computer manual January 6, 2009 It is easy to see how a computer manual might be compared with chloroform. However, this manual mixes in enough humor and sidebar insights to make it a bit more palatable. It begins with just enough basics to get a new user up to speed, without so many chapters on "how to select icons" that it drives away more advanced users. Overall a great resource for anyone learning Mac OS X for the first time, or trying to brush up after wandering in the Windows wilderness...
Mac OS X December 22, 2008 If you own a Mac with Leopard You need and will love this. Simple to read and follow, should come with every Mac
Best computer book I've seen! December 15, 2008 The book brought this new Mac user quickly up to speed. Its in-depth explanations of the myriad of features will be a continuing reference as I delve deeper into the OS. It is truly the Missing Manual and worth its weight in gold. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Use it to learn OS X, and as a reference manual December 12, 2008 Entertaining while educating. I am a recent Mac user, looking for both a learning book as well as a reference book. This fits that need very well. It is written in a style that is easy to read (for the learning part) and organized well as a reference manual to answer a specific question. I chose this book over others on the shelf in bookstores today.
Good stuff. November 25, 2008 The book is a big help to a guy like me who knows little about computers. Everything I want to learn is at my very finger tips.
